Job Description

The Home Care PAS Biller plays a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of Reliant at Home's Caregivers service line by overseeing billing processes and maintaining financial integrity. Their duties include accurately processing billing statements, verifying insurance coverage, and securing timely reimbursement for services rendered. Attention to detail is paramount in maintaining precise records of patient accounts and payments. Collaboration with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies is crucial to resolve billing discrepancies and adhere to regulatory guidelines. Effective communication skills are essential for explaining billing procedures to patients and addressing any inquiries they may have.   

Key Responsibilities:      

  • Review client records and documentation to determine billing requirements and eligibility for personal attendant services.
  • Generate and submit claims for personal attendant services to Long-Term Care insurance companies or other payers.
  • Follow up on unpaid claims, denials, and appeals to maximize reimbursement and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Communicate with clients and caregivers regarding billing inquiries, payment arrangements, and financial assistance options.
  • Maintain thorough and up-to-date records of client billing and payment transactions in compliance with privacy and confidentiality regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including caregivers, clients, insurance providers, and administrative staff, to address billing issues and ensure timely payment.

 

Qualifications:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical billing, with a focus on home care or personal attendant services.
  • Proficiency in PAS systems and billing software.
  • Knowledge of medical coding (e.g., CPT, HCPCS) and billing regulations specific to home care services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Familiarity with insurance billing processes and reimbursement practices.
